Consider Me Too by Cameron White, Life Inside The Ring
I am a lovely girl, with dreams of running the world. However; my dreams are things that I am afraid to reach. Clothed in doubt and everyday troubles, I sometimes find myself about to double over. Surrounded by faith and godly people, this gives me hope to carry on. But I can’t seem to find faith in myself, because that part of me is long gone.
Remember when I said I am a lovely girl? When I was younger, I let my looks rule my world. I saw how society worked, and how looks could take control of you. I grew up with naturally inviting eyes with a dark brown hue, and thick full lashes . I could look at you a certain way, and motivate you to do things you shouldn’t do.
This went on for years. I eventually learned to humble myself through all these fascinating phases. Now, I just listen. I listen to other people’s problems whenever they need an ear. But I look around sometimes and wonder if he too is willing to HEAR. I have people close to me that can hear what I’m saying, but they aren’t willing to LISTEN.
Long ago when I first fell in “love”, I lost some of my confidence that I’m trying to regain. He never asked about ME, never asked about my feelings. Never asked about my inspirations or dreams. The only time he was down to listen was to talk about my sexual dreams. Consider me too, motivate me like I motivate you. Ask me about how I’m feeling whenever my mood looks blue. Consider me too. Yes I do have self-doubt, but I know I’m more than just a pretty face and a temporary hook up. Consider me too, I apologize for what my looks did to you. I was only looking for love, and looking to feel wanted too.
Cameron accessed Writing for the Soul Workshop™ at Kingdom Connections Church in Marianna, Arkansas. Our program developer, TGIM Digital Publishing asked if Kingdom Boxing would stand in the gap as program provider for youth living there. It would require traveling there, and providing ongoing support for the youth. We were honored!
During the workshop, we met some really amazing people. We also learned that they experience the same struggles as our youth here in South Fort Worth. Like the lack of employment opportunities for instance. So when we told them that they could earn money promoting our books if they shared their story, Cameron agreed.

This Thing Called Life: Life Inside The Ring
Life doesn’t pull any punches. From your first breath to your last, there are no “time outs” or “practice runs”; life just goes, hit after hit. Although our children live in the best country in the world, generational poverty, single parent homes, addiction and violence impact one in every four children. One out of every 6 children will be impacted by at least three traumatic events in childhood, which we now know will have long-term mental and physical health impacts.
In the short-term, these tough environments mean shorter attention spans, behavioral issues, and “acting out” in an educational environment driven by “zero tolerance policies” that push our kids onto the ropes, and into a life on the streets or worse. We have to do better for our future. This Thing Called Life is the first release in the Life Inside The Ring series.
A portion of the proceeds from book sales goes to support Kingdom Boxing & Youth Outreach.
